Whitney is a city in Hill County, Texas, United States. Its population was 2,087 at the 2010 census.The city is 3 miles east of Lake Whitney, the site of the first bass fishing tournament. Organized by the local newspaper, it took place in 1955, with 73 teams participating.The Amazon Prime original movie The Vast of Night was shot in Whitney, which doubled for the fictional town of Cayuga, New Mexico.
