Newark is a village in Wayne County, New York, U.S., 35 miles south east of Rochester and 48 miles west of Syracuse. The population was 9,145 at the 2010 census. The Village of Newark is in the south part of the Town of Arcadia and is in the south of Wayne County. It is the most populated community in Wayne County.
Scammers are posing as police officers to try and dupe people into handing over financial information. Phone calls even appear to come from a local police station, say officers from Camden Police Area Command in NSW, which is a warning the public to beware of the new tactics.
Telstra customers beware: there’s a new, and very convincing scam that could be hitting your inbox soon. Images obtained by 9NEWS show a legitimate-looking email bill sent to an address earlier this month with the usual company subject line, “Your new Telstra Bill is ready to view”.
