Brookhaven is a small city in Lincoln County, Mississippi, United States, 55 miles south of the state capital of Jackson. The population was 12,520 at the 2010 U.S. Census. It is the county seat of Lincoln County. It was named after the town of Brookhaven, New York, by founder Samuel Jayne in 1818.
Scammers are posing as police officers to try and dupe people into handing over financial information. Phone calls even appear to come from a local police station, say officers from Camden Police Area Command in NSW, which is a warning the public to beware of the new tactics.
Telstra customers beware: there’s a new, and very convincing scam that could be hitting your inbox soon. Images obtained by 9NEWS show a legitimate-looking email bill sent to an address earlier this month with the usual company subject line, “Your new Telstra Bill is ready to view”.
