Lancaster is a city in Fairfield County, Ohio, in the south central part of the state. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 38,780. The city is near the Hocking River, about 33 miles southeast of Columbus and 38 miles southwest of Zanesville. It is the county seat of Fairfield County.
Scammers are posing as police officers to try and dupe people into handing over financial information. Phone calls even appear to come from a local police station, say officers from Camden Police Area Command in NSW, which is a warning the public to beware of the new tactics.
