Escondido is a city in San Diego County's North County region, 30 miles northeast of downtown San Diego, 15 miles from the ocean, and 40 miles from the Mexican border. Scamwatch is warning Australians to be wary of an online scam pretending to be from the Australian Boarder Force. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said a recorded message claiming to be from the Australian Boarder Force (ABF) is being sent around.
Scamwatch posted a tweet today saying people had been receiving phone calls with automated messages that pretended to inform the listener of a problem.
